Antelope Island State Park
March 14-15, 2025
March 14-15, 2025 the Troop camped at Antelope Island State Park Antelope Island has numerous hiking and biking trails. The island has large herds of bison. When we arrived at our campsite we had a herd of bison that were roughly 100 yards from our campground. As other campers began arriving the bison herd moved on. The night was cold but the skies were clear. The stars shown brilliantly in the sky.
Saturday, after breakfast, the boys broke camp and we drove to the south end of the island to explore the Fielding Garrison Ranch. When we got to the ranch we walked down to a barn on the ranch. There were park officials that immediately asked all of us to go onto the second floor of the ranch. There were a couple of aggressive bison that the park was herding out of the ranch area. The picture, above, are of the two bison. It was cool seeing them close up from the protection of the barn. After the bison were out of the ranch, they boys split up into their buddy pairs and explored the ranch.
