Summer Camp

Coordinate the yearly Scout summer camp

Coordinators

  • Spencer and Natasha

Responsibilities

  • Be the expert on summer camp. Understand all deadlines, etc.

  • Find out who is going to summer camp (both youth and adults)

  • Coordinate physicals with parents, ensuring that physical forms are up-to-date

    • Lee is putting together physical information - he’ll get that to the coordinators when it’s done

  • Help secure necessary adults for summer camp. This includes drivers and adult leaders so that we have 1 adult per 5 boys

  • Summer camp payment

    • Coordinate with the finance chair to see who has paid

    • Decide on the total cost for summer camp (see below). The total cost needs to include summer camp, fuel for vehicles driving, eating lunch at Big Jud’s on the way home.

  • Encourage parents to get their son’s summer camp fees paid

    • Set payment deadlines

      • Ensure payment deadlines are met

    • Give parents ideas so that their scout can earn part or all of their summer camp fee.

      • This might include helping neighbors with yard work, etc.

  • Help the troop identify 2026 summer camp destinations
